Root Cause Analysis (RCA)

Root cause analysis identifies why a metric changed. Learn how KPI trees make RCA systematic and fast.

Root Cause Analysis (RCA) is a systematic method for identifying the underlying cause of a problem or metric change. In the context of KPI trees, RCA involves traversing the tree from root to leaf: when the top-level metric changes, you check each branch to find which driver is responsible, then drill deeper until you reach the actionable root cause. This structured traversal replaces ad-hoc dashboard exploration with a repeatable, fast process.
