Bounce Rate

Bounce rate measures the share of single-page sessions on a site. Learn how to interpret bounce rate inside a conversion KPI tree.

Bounce Rate is the percentage of sessions where a user views one page and leaves without interaction. In a conversion KPI tree, bounce rate is the inverse of engaged-session rate and directly suppresses downstream funnel steps: Engaged Sessions = Sessions × (1 − Bounce Rate). High bounce on a landing page is rarely the root cause; it is usually a symptom of message-match, load time or audience-targeting issues upstream.
